Project AWARE (Aquatic World Awareness, Responsibility and Education) Foundation announces its Second Annual Photo Contest: Interaction without Distraction. Divers of all ages and experience levels are invited to share their aquatic adventures with fellow underwater enthusiasts by capturing them on film. The theme of this year's contest, Interaction without Distraction, captures in three words what Project AWARE strives to accomplish - to cultivate interest within the dive community with projects and programs that benefit the aquatic environment and its resources. Contest participants could win prizes like Sherwood Scuba and TUSA dive equipment, and the grand prize winner will enjoy an all-inclusive dive vacation courtesy of Breezes Golf and Beach Resort. The top three winning photos in each category may be used in upcoming PADI promotions, such as photo calendars, ads, certification cards or even on the Project AWARE checks. Proceeds from the contest will support Project AWARE Foundation, the dive industry's leading nonprofit 501(c)(3), tax-exempt organization, to fund ongoing environmental programs and initiatives such as beach clean-ups, environmental research projects, educational campaigns and much more.
